Development of Internal Controls

Because nonprofits have so many different types of entities they are accountable to, we help nonprofits set up internal controls, or rules and procedures they can implement to make sure their financials and accounting is accurate, hold the nonprofit accountable and prevent fraud.

Board of Director Training

We do customized trainings for new and existing board members to understand their financial fiduciary responsibilities, how to read and interpret data and what their responsibilities are, as well as resources for further understanding.

Some of our recent projects with nonprofits have led to:

Understanding what reports to use in QuickBooks to show how much money has been spent from a grant and how much is leftover.

Giving a board accurate financials for the first time ever, after the nonprofit had worked with a bookkeeper unfamiliar with the intricacies of nonprofit accounting and regulations. The staff was thrilled with our work because when it came time to do grant reports, they knew exactly how much came in, how much was spent, how much was leftover, which made their job of reporting to the board that much easier.

Helping a nonprofit board track the spending in the organization so they could answer these key questions: Where is the money going? Is it going to programs, to missions, to fundraising or administration? They knew what each percentage was and how to report back to donors.

Managing all the accounting, preparing and submitting financials and reporting to their board, so that Audrey became the only accounting staff they needed.
